The ones I couldn't share last week

So these are some more of the cards I made last week, which the recipients have now got in their sticky paws.

First off, a birthday card made using a sheet from the DCWV 'Once Upon a Time' 8x8 pad:

I decided I didn't want to do too much to this as the paper - well cardstock - is too lush to cover up the images & effect on it. I just trimmed it slightly so I could layer it on an 8x8 cardblank, & edged the cardblank with Dust Concord DI. May have used a bit of Black Soot too, but can't remember! Then all I did was rough up the edges of both the card blank & the image, roughly applied versamark along the edges & dunked them in gold embossing powder. Stamped out 'Happy Birthday' using a HOTP alpha clear stamp set which I embossed in gold & a subtle 50 in the corner which was clear embossed.

Next, another stamped birthday card:

This time I used one of my fave stamps from the PM Bubbles Born To Shop Housework stamp sheet & coloured with promarkers, adding a little sparkle with a Sakura clear stardust pen. It was stamped on one of the mats included in the June Kanban stamps TSV & mounted on a 10cmx10cm cardblank.

Finally, this card was for the August swap on CT.com I went with the 'Rain' option & used it as an excuse to finally treat myself to an 'umbrella' image. No idea why, but I've wanted a character with an umbrella image for ages - & now I have one. This is Tatty Button 'Rainy Days':

I used DI in Faded Jeans for stamping, painting & distressing onto the largest Labels 17 nestability. I highlighted the rain drops & puddles again using a Sakura clear stardust pen, plus a Sakura clear glaze pen.

Then I stuck a peel off umbrella border to a mat, plus some small raindrop gems & distressed with DI again. Once peel back off, the image remained in white. To finish of I splatted the mat with water drops & lifted the colour off.

I'm rather chuffed with the outcome!

  1. Great cards as always. I love the sentiment in the second card (oh so true).
The Tatty card turned out brilliantly and is a really nice combination of techniques.
