So what got me started?

As I haven't strictly got a new card to post (yet, the recipient needs to actually recieve it before I post a pic of it!), I thought I'd take the longest trip down my crafty life I could manage. I've always had a penchant for clean crisp papers & more than a slight obsession with pens, so I guess the more 'grown up' crafty gene was just waiting to be switched on.

In 2006 I went on a week-long trip to Egypt with my dad. Not a sun, sea, sand trip, but a full on historical monuments trip to feed my, well our, intense interest in history. It was fantastic & I wanted to do more than stick the pics in an album, I had all these souvenir tickets & things too, so I set about making a memory album using A4 display pocket files - well I'd not heard of scrapbooking at the time. I went on line to look for some nice backing papers & ran into all these lush craft sites (I even discovered peel offs LOL)...And the rest is almost history; almost cos I after I made the albums I just needed the push of bumping into Create & Craft & seeing what you can do with all these fabulous products & I was utterly mesmerised...

Anyway, these are some of the pages I made up for those initial albums:

Not the best pages in the world, but I'm proud of them! And have recently realised that all the genuine papyrus paper that I used will not do the pics any good in the slightest, being as though they certainly won't be A&L free! Ooops!

  1. This looks better than my first scrapbook in 2007. I went to Vietnam and put all my tickets, bits and pieces and strange biscuit wrappers in it. It's very basic and is now screaming at me for a make over!!
The photos look fantastic, I've always wanted to go to Egypt.
